Moving into 2021 is a special time for all members of Dynamik theatre as we reach a small but powerful milestone. 5 years has gone by so quickly and we have achieved so much. Kicking off the year back in a national lockdown is not what we had hoped for but something we simply have to work with ready to come back stronger than ever on the other side of this pandemic.
During the last 5 years we have achieved great thing, staged beautiful shows and worked with so many talented performers. None of this would have been possible without the continued support of our staff and volunteers, musicians, creative staff, members, parents or supporters.
2016 started with out month long sell out run of RENT at the Edinburgh Festival 'FRINGE' in which we achieved our sell out show crest.
2017 saw us rebrand into our existing name and stun the people of stratford with what was described as 'a little theatre of wonders' for our very own Little shop of Horrors.
2018 we partnered with the wonderful Wythall Theatre Company to produce Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat to celebrate the shows 50th anniversary as well as Wythall Theatres 60th.
Moving into 2019 we unfortunately saw Wythall Theatre Company close due to the lack of members and support in putting on a production. We very kindly received a generous donation from the company as well as inheriting their storage / workshop facilities, set and props all based on our rehearsal site of Wythall Park. This sad closure of WTC meant we had a new rehearsal venue at Wythall Park in its ideal location for all members.
2019 saw the official launch of 'Dynamik Youth' and 'Dynamik Musical Theatre', 2 different groups that form a large part of the company. The 2 groups then worked very closely with each other to produce and stage a wonderful workshop show 'The Sound of Musicals' in September of 2019 which was a great success.
Following 'The Sound of Musicals' auditions were held for our 2020 production of 'Oliver!'.
Luckily we managed to get 'Oliver!' to the stage just before we realised how serious this virus really is. We received an overwhelming amount of positive comments and support from our audiences as well as a good review from NODA.
The rest of 2020 saw us spending our usual Wednesday evening on Zoom, whether that was a youth call or a quiz with the band, a planning meeting with the staff team or a launch night for the next project... we have adapted to the circumstances and have become quite comfortable with muting children!!
Our next adventure takes us 'Into the Woods', coming to the Palace Theatre stage in 2022 after being postponed twice from its original date due to the never ending coronavirus pandemic.
We hope to stage our Birthday celebration at the Palace Theatre in October 2021 and all will be revealed in due course.
